Phew, it’s been a busy month of races and club events. Kudos to the 13 runners who took part in the 10k time trial. Everyone scored over 60% in their age grading which is brilliant and well done to Mike who won with a very impressive 81%.
Next up was the short but testing Cademuir Rollercoaster. It was a gloriously sunny day and we had 12 Moorfoots taking part in the senior race and earning those club champ points. We also had the joy of watching Thomas Hilton set a new course record in a fantastic time of 24.19! Thanks also to everyone who volunteered on the day and to Gregor for organising.
It was a very hot day for Coreen, Sam and Andrew Tipper who took on the Scottish Half Marathon so a big well done to them.
Finally, in a wee change from our usual Tues training, Gillian organised a fun (and competitive! ;-) ) relay. Six teams took up the baton and raced on a tough 1k loop up Soonhope Glen. It looked great fun and everyone was smiling even if they were being eaten by midges! Thank you to everyone who organised and helped on the night.

Coreen is looking strong at the top of the leaderboard with Jen chasing her in second place, followed very closely by Andrew Fish and Sam in joint 3rd. It’s great to also see Maggie and Tim over the medal threshold and a few others are getting close…
Next race on the calendar is the classic Two Breweries. Or if you’d like something less hilly there’s the Wild Deer 10k or Half Marathon at Dalkeith.
If you want to claim any points, or when I need to make any corrections, just drop me (Dorien) an email or message. And a message from Colin - send your pictures too. The blog looks way better with some photos added in!
