Club Championship Update - Early July 2025

And we have entered July!

Great running from several MFers in the Eildon Race and Earlston Black Hill race – well done!

The biggest achievement comes from Martin who completed the Run Brittania that included 1,028 miles of running from Land's End to John O'Groats. If you want to find out more about Martin’s adventures then check out his blog.

With a big smile I read Martin’s text message with the question whether he could claim club champ points for running an ultra. Yes of course, you earned 25 club champ points for running 1000+ miles and 10 bonus points for running a PB in distance. I think nobody will argue that you earned those points and also a lot of respect – AMAZING Martin, hope your recovery goes well!

LEJOG complete - now just have to get home!

If you think running 1000+ miles in 5 weeks is just a bit too much then there are also other ways to earn club champs points in the upcoming weeks.

The Moffat Festival race is on Tuesday 15th of July – which is a fantastic 9 mile race with a great long stretched downhill to the finish line. The post-run activity is standing in the MF queue for a well-deserved chippy.

As part of the St Ronans Games Week the Lee Pen Hill Race will be happening on Saturday the 19th of July in Innerleithen. For just 4.8K you can very “easily” earn 10 points! Just saying.

We will also organise a social Lee Pen Recce on Thursday 17th of July to give you a flavour of the race, and if you are planning on racing it or not, it doesn’t matter, come along and enjoy a nice refreshment in the Durty Brewery afterwards!

If you want to claim any points, or when I need to make any corrections, just drop me (Dorien) an email or message. And a message from Colin - send your pictures too. The blog looks way better with some photos added in!
